Frequently asked questions
Do you charge to come measure / for an estimate?
Estimates are completely free — we come measure, help you pick a material, and give you the exact price before any work is done.
How much do countertops cost?
It depends on the material, the size, and the details like edges and sinks, so we measure on site and give you the exact price up front — and the measure is free.
How soon can you install / how long does it take?
After we measure, fabrication usually takes about one to a couple of weeks, and the install itself is often a day — we'll give you exact dates once we've seen the space.
What's the difference between granite and quartz?
They're both great — granite is natural stone and heat-tolerant, and quartz is engineered and very low-maintenance. The team will walk you through which fits your kitchen and budget best.
Do you do marble, butcher block, or laminate too?
Yes — marble, butcher block, solid surface, and laminate as well as granite and quartz. We'll show you the options and help you choose.
My countertop is chipped or cracked — can you fix it?
Often, yes — we handle chip and crack repairs. The technician will take a look and let you know the best fix and the exact price, and the estimate is free.
My counter is loose or lifting — is that a problem?
Let's take care of that — countertops are heavy, so please keep weight off it and kids clear, and we'll get someone out to re-secure it safely.
Can you fix or hide a bad seam?
Yes — we do seam repair. The technician will look at it and go over what can be done to tighten or improve it, and the estimate is free.
Do I need to seal my countertop?
Some natural stones benefit from periodic sealing while quartz doesn't need it — the technician will tell you exactly what yours needs and can take care of the sealing.
Do you install backsplashes?
We do — backsplashes are a great finishing touch and we can include one with your countertop. We'll show you the options at the measure.
Do you do commercial / business countertops?
Yes — we do commercial countertops as well as homes. Tell me about the space and we'll set up a measure.
What's your warranty / guarantee?
We stand behind our work — the team will go over the exact warranty on the material and installation when they measure.
Do you offer financing / payment options?
That's a good question — let me have the office confirm the current payment options and we'll go over them with you.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll grab your address and set up a free measure.
⚠️ Safety first
- A countertop, especially stone, is loose or lifting off the cabinets: Countertops are very heavy, so let's be careful — please take everything off it, keep kids and pets clear, and don't lean or press on it. We'll get someone out to secure it safely.
- A slab has cracked through and a section could drop: Please keep weight off that section and keep everyone clear of it — if a piece looks like it could come down, don't try to catch it. We'll get a technician out to handle it safely.
- Someone was hurt by a falling or shifting slab: If anyone is hurt, please take care of that first and call 911 if it's serious — your safety comes first, and we'll take care of the countertop once everyone's okay.
Know the terms
- Template
- The exact measurement pattern of your space that the countertop is cut from for a precise fit.
- Fabrication
- Cutting, shaping, polishing, and cutting sink openings in the slab at the shop.
- Quartz (engineered stone)
- A man-made stone surface that's very durable and doesn't need sealing.
- Edge profile
- The shape of the countertop's edge — eased, bullnose, ogee, and others.
- Seam
- Where two pieces of countertop join; a good one is tight and nearly invisible.
- Undermount sink
- A sink mounted under the counter for a smooth, seamless edge.
