Frequently asked questions
I smell gas — what do I do?
Please get everyone out of the house right now and don't touch any switches, appliances, or your phone until you're outside. From a safe spot, call 911 and your gas company — then we can help with detection once it's safe.
Do you charge for an estimate?
The estimate on the repair is free — the technician finds the leak, shows you what's going on, and gives you the exact price before any work. Any detection fee is confirmed up front and often credited toward the repair.
How much does leak detection cost?
It depends on where the leak is and how it needs to be reached, so the technician locates it and gives you the exact price up front. We'll go over everything before any work.
How soon can you come / same day / emergency?
We offer same-day and emergency service and can usually get a technician out to you quickly — I'll get your details and find the soonest time.
My water bill jumped — could it be a leak?
A sudden jump is worth checking — the technician will pinpoint any hidden leak with special equipment before opening anything up. We won't guess the cause over the phone.
There's a warm or wet spot on my floor
Thanks for telling me — let's get a technician out to locate it precisely. Please avoid the area if it's slick, and the technician will find exactly what's going on before any work.
I hear running water but everything's off
That's a good reason to have it checked — the technician uses listening equipment to trace it and find the leak without tearing anything up.
Can you find a pool leak?
Yes — we pressure-test the pool plumbing and check the shell and fittings to tell a real leak from normal evaporation, then locate it exactly.
Do you detect gas leaks too?
We do detect gas leaks — but if you smell gas right now, please get outside and call 911 and your gas company first. If it's a check with no smell, we'll schedule a technician to test the lines safely.
Do you also repair the leak or just find it?
Both — we locate the leak and handle the repair, so it's taken care of start to finish. The technician gives you the exact price before any work.
Will you have to tear up my floor or yard?
We work to avoid that — the whole point of leak detection is pinpointing it first so the repair is as small and targeted as possible.
Do you do slab leaks?
Yes, slab leaks are one of our specialties — the technician locates it under the foundation precisely and goes over the repair options and exact price with you.
Do you work with insurance?
Often yes — we document what we find, and the technician can help you understand what your insurance may cover. It's a good question for the office too.
Do you do commercial buildings?
Yes, we handle commercial and residential leak detection — homes, businesses, and larger properties.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll grab your details and get a technician headed your way.
⚠️ Safety first
- Smell of gas / rotten eggs, or hissing near a gas line: Please get everyone out of the house right now, and don't touch any light switches, appliances, or your phone until you're outside. From a safe spot away from the house, call 911 and your gas company. We'll help with the detection once it's safe.
- Water reaching outlets, wiring, or the electrical panel: Please don't stand in or touch that water near anything electrical. If you can reach your breaker while standing somewhere dry, shut off the power to that area; if not, stay clear and call an electrician or 911. Then we'll get a technician out.
- Major active leak flooding the home: Let's slow it down first — if you can, shut off your home's main water valve, usually where the line comes in or near the meter. Then we'll get a technician headed your way right away.
- Feeling dizzy, headache, or ill with a gas smell: If anyone feels dizzy, sick, or has a headache, get everyone outside to fresh air immediately and call 911 — your safety comes first, and the leak can wait.
