Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for an estimate?
Estimates are free — a technician checks the system, often running each zone, and gives you the exact price before any work is done.
How soon can you come out / same day?
We do same-day and emergency service, and for water that won't shut off we get someone out fast. Let me grab your details and get you scheduled.
How much to fix a sprinkler?
It depends on what the system needs and how many heads or zones are involved, so the technician looks first and gives you the exact price up front. The estimate is free.
One of my zones won't turn on
No problem — a zone that's out is a common fix. The technician will run the system, find out why, and get it watering again, with the price up front.
My heads won't pop up or spray the wrong way
We can take care of that — the technician will check the heads, adjust or replace what's needed, and go over the price before any work.
There's water pooling or a geyser in my yard
Let's get that looked at quickly. If water's actively gushing, shutting off the irrigation valve or main water helps in the meantime, and we'll get a technician out to fix it.
My controller isn't working / lost the schedule
The technician will check the controller and wiring and get your schedule running properly again — and go over the price with you first.
Do you winterize / blow out systems?
Yes, winterizing is one of our seasonal services — we blow out the lines so nothing freezes and cracks. Let me get you on the schedule before the freeze.
Do you do spring startup / turn it back on?
Absolutely — we do spring startups, checking each zone and adjusting the heads as we bring the system back for the season. Let me set that up.
Do you test backflow?
Yes, we test and repair backflow preventers. Let me get your details and set up the test or service.
Do you install new systems or add zones?
Yes, we design and install new systems and add zones or drip lines to existing ones. The technician will look and give you an exact quote for free.
Can you upgrade me to a smart controller / rain sensor?
Definitely — smart controllers and rain sensors can cut your water bill by skipping watering when it rains. We'll go over the options and price for free.
Do you do commercial properties?
Yes, we handle commercial and large properties as well as home lawns. Let me get your info and set it up.
What's your warranty / guarantee?
We stand behind our work — the technician will go over the exact warranty on parts and labor when he's there.
Do you offer financing / payment options?
That's a good question, especially for a new system — let me have the office confirm the current payment options and we'll go over them with you.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll just grab your address and get a technician headed your way.
⚠️ Safety first
- Water gushing or a line running non-stop: Let's stop the water first — if you can, shut off the valve on the irrigation line, or the main water shut-off to the house. That'll stop the flooding, and we'll get a technician out fast to fix it.
- Water pooling near the house foundation or into the basement: Please shut off the water to the system or the house if you can, and move anything valuable away from the wet area. We'll prioritize getting a technician out so it doesn't reach the foundation.
- Sprinkler water spraying onto an electrical box, outlet, or panel: For safety, please don't touch anything electrical that's getting wet, and if you can safely shut off the water to the system, do that. If anything is sparking, keep clear and call your power company, and we'll handle the sprinkler side.
- Homeowner digging to find a leak near buried utility lines: Please hold off on digging — there can be buried gas, power, or cable lines down there. Let our technician locate and handle it safely; that's exactly what we do.
Know the terms
- Zone
- A section of the yard watered together by one valve; systems are split into several zones.
- Valve / solenoid
- The electric valve that opens a zone when the controller signals it; the solenoid is the electric part.
- Controller / timer
- The box that runs the watering schedule and tells each zone when to turn on.
- Rotor vs. spray head
- Rotors send rotating streams over large areas; spray heads put out a fixed fan for smaller spots.
- Backflow preventer
- A code-required device that keeps irrigation water from flowing back into your drinking water; often needs an annual test.
- Winterization / blow-out
- Clearing all the water from the lines with compressed air before winter so pipes don't freeze and crack.
- Drip irrigation
- Low-flow tubing and emitters that water beds and gardens slowly and efficiently.
